What is Profhilo?

Profhilo has become one of the most talked about procedures in recent times due to its remarkable ability to rejuvenate the texture of the skin. If you’re concerned with fine lines, irregularities and laxity of your skin then this treatment is for you.

Profhilo is considered an injectable moisturiser. Its patented formula consists of high and low-density hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules. The unique technology produces the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in the market.

What are the effects of Profhilo?

HA naturally exists within the skin and provides support and structure to the dermis and epidermis. HA has the ability to draw and hold many times its own weight in water. Injecting Profhilo’s high concentration of HA into the skin has 2 effects:

Firstly, it has a massive hydrating effect which many clients notice within weeks. The skin quickly goes from dull and lifeless to refreshed and vibrant. Irregularities in the skin are smoothed and the skin is left with a healthy glow.

Secondly, Profhilo is able to remodel the skin by stimulating natural collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin give the skin its firmness and elasticity but unfortunately, we lose these skin components with age. Restoring collagen and elastin gives the skin a tighter and firmer appearance which leaves the skin looking more youthful.

What does Profhilo involve?

The treatment involves a few injections on each side of the face, neck or hands. You can expect to see small raised areas where the product has been injected. This will quickly disperse over 24 hours.

The treatment consists of 2 sessions 4 weeks apart.

HYALASE (HYALURONIDASE)

Hyalase is an enzyme which rapidly breaks down dermal filler over 24-48 hours.  This treatment is indicated in those individuals who wish to remove dermal filler that has previously been injected. It is also indicated to treat the uncommon complication of vascular occlusion.

The treatment is performed by injecting the hyalase solution into the skin where the filler is situated. Rarely, individuals may have an allergic reaction to hyalase so prior to treatment a small test patch is performed.

Despite common misconceptions, the treatment is well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
